DB Police has arrested a young man named Abu Taleb who insulted the Prime Minister on Facebook Live in Garabari village of Gangni Upazila of Meherpur.

A DB team under the leadership of DB OC Saiful Alam managed to arrest him from Sehgalpur of Gangni upazila around 9:30 pm on Wednesday after raiding several villages of Meherpur for 2 days.

DB OC Saiful Alam said that Abu Taleb went live on his Facebook ID on Saturday night and abused the Prime Minister. which includes the crime of treason.

He said, on the orders of senior officials, raids were conducted in Jessore, Chuadanga and Meherpur districts for the last two days to arrest him. Later, he was arrested from Sahgalpur of Gangni upazila and handed over to DB office and then to Gangni police station. In this incident, he was arrested in Gangni police station under Digital Security Act and sedition case.
