বাংলাদেশে হিন্দু নির্যাতনের ঘটনা একেবারেই নিত্যদিনের বিষয়ে পরিণত হয়েছে। প্রতিদিনই কোথাও না কোথাও হামলা, হুমকি, মারধর, জমি দখল, খুন, ধর্ষণ ঘটেই চলেছে।
গতকাল ২৩ এপ্রিল সাতক্ষীরার আশাশুনি উপজেলায় জমি দখলের উদ্দেশ্যে একটি হিন্দু পরিবারের উপর হামলা, এমনকি নারীদের উপরও আঘাত হানার ঘটনা ঘটেছে। এ ঘটনায় অন্তত ৫ জন আহত হয়েছেন। এদের মধ্যে দুইজন গুরুতর। বাড়ির খড়ের গাদায় আগুন ধরিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে। দুই মাস আগেও পরিবারটির উপর হামলা হয়। পুলিশ এ হামলার বিষয়ে নিরব, মামলাই নিতে চায়নি। পরে বাংলাদেশ হিন্দু বৌদ্ধ খ্রিস্টান ঐক্য পরিষদের কেন্দ্রীয় নেতৃবৃন্দের হস্তক্ষেপে আশাশুনি থানা পুলিশ মামলা রেকর্ড করতে বাধ্য হয়েছে। ঘটনাটি আশাশুনি উপজেলার ৪ নং দরগাহপুর ইউনিয়নের খড়িয়াটি গ্রামের।
আক্রান্ত পরিবারটির সদস্য প্রদীপ কুমার সরকার হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ বার্তায় যা লিখেছেন, তা এমনঃ
"হায়রে এটা নাকি স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশ! হিন্দু হয়ে এদেশে বাস করা কি আমাদের অপরাধ? এর আগে ২৭/০২/২০২২ তারিখে ঠিক এমনভাবে আমাদের পাশে সাবেক চেয়ারম্যান জমির উদ্দিনের চাচাতো ভাই ও চাচারা এমন অত্যাচার করেন এবং আজ ২৩-০৪-২০২২ এই অবস্থা করেছে। বাড়ির উঠানে রাখা ধান পলে তারা আগুন লাগিয়ে দেয়। ঐ সময় তারা আমাদের জমির উপর ঘর বেঁধে রাখছিল আর আজকে আমাদের বাকি ফসলি জমিতে ঘেরা দিতে আসলে আমরা বাধা দিলে তারা শাবল ও লাঠি দিয়ে মারধর করে। এ নিয়ে গতকাল থানায় গেলে বলে যে জেলায় যেতে হবে, জেলায় মামলা করতে হবে। থানায় হবে না। আমরা তখন ওসির সাথে কথা বলতে চাইলে জানানো হয়, ওসি নাকি ঘুমাইছে পরে কথা বলতে হবে। আমরা থানায় আসার আগে যারা মারধর করছে তারা দেখি থানা থেকে বেরিয়ে যাচ্ছে।"
গতকালের হামলায় আহত হয়েছেন:
শ্রী চিত্তরঞ্জন সরকার,
শ্রীমতি তারকী রাণী সরকার,
শ্রী শিবপদ সরকার,
শ্রী নয়ন সরকার এবং
শ্রী অভিমন্যু সরকার।
এদের মধ্যে শ্রীমতি তারকী রাণী সরকার ও শ্রী চিত্তরঞ্জন সরকারের আঘাত গুরুতর। এদেরকে সাতক্ষীরা সরকারি হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে বাকিদেরকে প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসা দিয়ে ছেড়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে।

Incidents of Hindu persecution in Bangladesh have become a daily occurrence. Every day there are attacks, threats, beatings, land grabs, murders, rapes.
Yesterday, on 23rd April, an attack was carried out on a Hindu family in Asashuni sub-district of Satkhira with the intention of occupying the land and also on the women. At least 5 people were injured in the incident. Two of them are serious. The haystack of the house has been set on fire. The family was attacked two months ago. The police were silent on the subject of the attack and did not want to take up the case. Later, with the intervention of the central leaders of the Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council of Bangladesh, the Asashuni police were forced to record a case. The incident took place in Khariati village of Dargahpur Union No. 4 of Asashuni sub-district.
Pradeep Kumar Sarkar, a member of the victim's family, wrote in a WhatsApp message:
"Alas, is this an independent Bangladesh! Is it our crime to live in this country as a Hindu? Earlier on 26/02/2022, the cousins and uncles of former chairman Jamir Uddin committed such atrocities on our side and today on 23-04-2022 this situation has come to an end. They set fire to the paddy fields in the backyard. At that time, they were building houses on our land and today, when we tried to stop us from encircling the rest of our crop land, they beat us with shovels and sticks. We have to file a case in the district. We don't have to go to the police station. If we want to talk to the OC then we have to know whether the OC is asleep or not.
Injured in yesterday's attack:
Shri Chittaranjan Sarkar,
Mrs. Taraki Rani Sarkar,
Shri Shivapada Sarkar,
Shri Nayan Sarkar and
Shri Abhimanyu Sarkar.
Among them, the injuries of Mrs. Taraki Rani Sarkar and Mr. Chittaranjan Sarkar are serious. They have been admitted to Satkhira Government Hospital and the rest have been discharged with first aid.
