Dead body of Hindu college student recovered from abandoned school house in Nilphamari
Police recovered the body of a Hindu college student from an abandoned classroom of a private primary school in Nilphamari.
The body was recovered from Baragacha Private Primary School of Sonara Union in Domar Upazila of the district on Saturday (August 13) morning. The name of the dead college student is Prosenjit Roy (18). He was the son of Prasunath Chandra Roy of Baniapara village of that union and a first year HSC student of Uttar Chowra Baragacha College.
Prasenjit's brother Uttam Kumar Roy said, "On Friday (August 12) evening, Prosenjit left the house and did not return. Searched for him during the night and was nowhere to be found."
He also said, "On Saturday morning, the devotees went to the school to fetch water after eating prasad at the sannyasi temple in Baniapara. They went and found a dead body hanging in the classroom of the school. Later we went inside and identified Prasenjit."
It is not yet confirmed whether it was suicide or murder.
Officer-in-charge of Domar police station. Mahmud Un Nabi said, "The body has been recovered and sent to Nilphamari General Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examination. A UD case has been filed by the family."

নীলফামারীতে একটি বেসরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের পরিত্যক্ত ক্লাসরুম থেকে এক হিন্দু কলেজ ছাত্রের লাশ উদ্ধার করেছে পুলিশ।
শনিবার (১৩ আগস্ট) সকালে জেলার ডোমার উপজেলার সোনারা ইউনিয়নের বড়গাছা বেসরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় থেকে মরদেহটি উদ্ধার করা হয়। নিহত কলেজ ছাত্রের নাম প্রসেনজিৎ রায় (১৮)। সে ওই ইউনিয়নের বানিয়াপাড়া গ্রামের প্রসুনাথ চন্দ্র রায়ের ছেলে ও উত্তর চৌড়া বড়গাছা কলেজের এইচএসসি প্রথম বর্ষের ছাত্র।
প্রসেনজিতের ভাই উত্তম কুমার রায় বলেন, "শুক্রবার (১২ আগস্ট) সন্ধ্যায় প্রসেনজিৎ বাড়ি থেকে বের হয়ে ফেরেননি। রাতে তাকে অনেক খোঁজাখুঁজি করেও কোথাও পাওয়া যায়নি।"
তিনি আরও বলেন, "শনিবার সকালে বানিয়াপাড়ার সন্ন্যাসী মন্দিরে প্রসাদ খেয়ে ভক্তরা জল আনতে স্কুলে গিয়েছিল। তারা গিয়ে স্কুলের ক্লাসরুমে ঝুলন্ত লাশ দেখতে পায়। পরে আমরা ভেতরে গিয়ে প্রসেনজিতকে শনাক্ত করি। "
এটি আত্মহত্যা নাকি হত্যা তা এখনো নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়নি। ডোমার থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা মো. মাহমুদ উন নবী বলেন, লাশ উদ্ধার করে ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য নীলফামারী জেনারেল হাসপাতাল মর্গে পাঠানো হয়েছে। পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে একটি ইউডি মামলা করা হয়েছে।
